The Flume Trail-Lake Tahoe
I don’t ride my mountain bike very often. Technically it’s not even mine, it’s my husband’s bike; I just call it my bike. When we went to Lake Tahoe, our friends had a great idea to ride this awesome trail: The Flume Trail. I figured that it wouldn’t be that bad, my girlfriend did it and she said that it wasn’t that hard. There were 6 of us (3 couples) that did it together.
It took us about 3 hours, but we did it. I huffed and puffed, but I had so much fun enjoying the awesome view! It was a little sketchy for me in some areas when we were super high in elevation and it was a single track, but I persevered. I might have walked my bike for a few parts….or maybe several parts. I might have even held up the tail of our crew the whole time; I thought of it as “taking in the scenery.”
I would highly recommend this ride for anyone visiting Lake Tahoe. Even if you ride your mountain bike once a year, like me, you would have fun cruising the trail and taking your time. There is a shuttle that you can pay $20 per person to take you to the start of the trail, if you are not the frugal type. We took 3 cars and shuttled ourselves to the start. It was great! We used that $20 instead to buy some cold beer and a good meal at a local restaurant instead. Here are some pictures from our adventure:
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
