July Mortgage Payoff

August 16, 2013

My summer hiatus is over, back to blogging!!! I am so happy to be back with another mortgage update.  I’m going to post the August mortgage update on Monday 😉  It was beautiful at the beach the past couple of weeks, but I missed blogging.

July was a good month. We were in Lake Tahoe for the first 7 days of the month, this made it harder to book extra days of work. However, we were able to take off 2 pieces!!!!! Which means that we have 8 to go!!!! We are so close!!!! We are still on track to pay this thing off on November 29, 2013.

If you are new to this blog, this is our visual aid for our mortgage payoff.  Every black piece represents a sum of money towards our debt. We take a piece off every time we reach the dollar value of a black piece.

July Mortgage Payoff

Money Obstacles: We had to budget money for our trip to Lake Tahoe in July.  We were blessed to be able to stay at our friend’s cousin’s house for free!  However, we still needed to budget for food, and a special thank you for the family that hosted us. It was so much fun to be able to spend the Fourth of July on the Lake, we even went down to a private pier and watched the fireworks from there. It was awesome!!!

We also celebrated my birthday in July!! We used a gift card that we had to one of my favorite places: Ramos House in San Juan Capistrano. I LOVE gift cards!!! Is it just me or is this summer flying by?  In 2 weeks they will probably have the Christmas stuff out at Costco!  Crazy!!!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!  See you on Monday!!

When we got to our last payment we needed to call to get a final payout number and then the check (cashier’s only) had to be postmarked by a certain date to make sure the interest was right. Just FYI you may need to double check your lender’s process.

Love it!! You guys are getting so close!

I don’t know why, but my mortgage company snail mails me a paper statement each month. I love leaving it out on the kitchen table and looking at that number every day 🙂 I have to remember to put it away when people come over though!
