Life in instagram photos

October 22, 2012

I’ve never experienced summer in October before, it was glorious!  Mister and I were able to go to the beach last week a few times.  I wish I would have gone prepared with a new dutch oven recipe….booo ;( I haven’t been posting regularly because I procrastinate too much.  I always tell myself I will post before I go to bed, then before I know it I’ve gone to sleep and woken up empty-posted.
Here are last week’s Instagram’s pictures.  Follow me at Nurse_Frugal.

Instagram pictures

Clockwise from top left:

1. One of the most awesome sunsets of all-time.

2. At work with our pink shirts to raise cancer awareness.  I really should have combed my hair that day.

3. Preparing for a half: Mile 8.  My friend and I took turns running with a stroller.  Even though the stroller was so small, felt like I was pushing bricks….AWESOME WORKOUT! Highly recommend it.

4. Pumpkin butter and Pumpkin macarons from Trader Joe’s. The macarons were delightful.

5. Awesome beach day. We have summertime all year long in Southern California.

6. Homemade sourdough french toast with avocado and cheese omelette.

7. Supporting my friend’s fashion show for LA Fashion Week.  Check out Continuous Clothing.

8. Date night in. Salad, gourmet hot chocolate and a game of backgammon. We are living on the edge.

9. Upside down picture of friends….can’t figure out how to flip it over on Instagram.

Thanks for reading! Have a great day.

Questions for you: Do you procrastinate?  How often do you post vs. how often would you like to post?

Very relaxing photos! I can tell you that I would love to post every single day, but there is no way I could catch up with that kind of pace (or find time for it).

That is a huge reason I blog, Nurse Frugal. To literally FORCE myself to write every day. (Otherwise, I would just daydream my days away in their entirety.) Great to see you back. .. loving the photos!

Thanks girl!!! I totally wax and wane on here. It’s difficult to try to balance your life and day to day stuff without feeling like the blog consumes you. I LOVE blogging, but i can let it get in the way of stuff too. How do you balance that?

Last weekend, Nathan and I finally made the pilgrimage to Hearst Castle , which is about five hours away from Pasadena (in between L.A. and San Francisco). My family took two or three trips to Hearst Castle when I was growing up, but I have not been since my senior year of high school. (Which, oh my god, was fifteen years ago. I’m old). This is how I like to describe Hearst Castle: it’s a historical site; an art museum; a design/furniture museum; an architectural wonder; a monument to wealth, capitalism and extravagance; a botanical garden; and a nature sanctuary; all rolled into one ridiculous package. William Randolph Hearst built his “little ranch” on the top of a hill. If you want to visit the Castle, you have to buy tickets for a tour at the visitor’s center. No tour, no castle. A bus shuttles you to the Castle. It’s about a ten minute drive on a winding road, and the Castle and ocean views appear, disappear and reappear many times. This is the same road that Hearst himself and his guests took when they were visiting the Castle.
