Fabulous Friday

September 21, 2012

The weather is finally cooling down and it’s wonderful!  I can’t believe they already have Christmas decorations at Costco and Big Lots! It’s only September!

I was able to go to a wonderful event last Saturday with a friend for the organization called Isanctuary.  They help to provide rehabilitation options for survivors of human trafficking. Their jewelry is handmade by survivors and the profits go towards their wages and different rehabilitation programs. Here are some pictures from the event:

I did my friend’s hair. She got the idea from Pinterest. Now that I’m looking closely, I left quite a few fly-aways ;( Sorry my friend!

Bible Verse: “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it,” 1 Corinthians 10:13.

I’m not digging the title Fabulous Friday anymore.  Does anyone have any suggestions? If so, please comment or email me with any other ideas.

Questions for you: How was your week? Anything fun you would like to share?

You say, “How does that happen?” Verse 14, “God doesn’t tempt,” verse 14, “but each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by…what?…his own lust. Then when lust has conceived it gives birth to sin, and when sin is accomplished it brings forth death. Don’t you be deceived, my beloved brethren, every good thing bestowed in every perfect gift is from above.” That’s all God ever sends. God will bring the test for spiritual maturity and perfection. It is your own lust that begins to produce the solicitation to do evil.

What a great fundraiser! One of my classes was cancelled….so that made this week great. 🙂

I think people haven’t changed all that much. We’re all tempted in different ways and always have been. People in much of the world are still slogging away just trying to make ends meet, and then there’s a class with more leisure. Both have their points of susceptibility to sins of various types and degree. But, through it all we can know that, “Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.” Heb. 2:18 “And, God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” 1 Cor.10:13 That is a comforting realization.I’m like you, in that my main temptation is in the area of using my time in a righteous way. And, not being involved in gossip.

That is so fantastic that you support a charity to fight against human trafficking. This is a cause my husband and I support too, and love the work of International Justice Mission and Not for Sale. So much evil and if we can fight against that in our own small corner of the world, well, then YES! Is Fabulous Friday a recap of your week or highlight? Trying to help you with a title, but wondering about what your goal is. My biggest temptation is to be a whiner and complainer instead of being thankful and grateful. Ouch!

Hey Maria! Friday is basically a list of my favorite things from the past week 😉 I know what you mean with the whiner and complainer…..I am definitely mrs. whiney pants sometimes. I will have to check out International Justice Mission and Not for Sale, although….does IJM have a branch in Guatemala? I might have visited one of their branches 😉
