Gowns throughout the decades

April 18, 2012

I thought it would be most appropriate to post about fashion inspired by dresses worn by the First Ladies of the United States.  I was able to visit the American Culture Smithsonian D.C. and they have a special exhibit dedicated to the gowns worn by First Ladies during the Inaugural Ball. I have to admit, Michelle Obama’s dress is definitely my favorite!  Sadly, these pictures were taken with my Iphone, not my camera 😦

Work it girl!

Even Michelle Obama’s accessories were awesome!

This is a fun 1960’s, 1970’s one-shoulder dress.

I feel like that the fur sleeves might be coming back in style? No?

Oh my goodness, Michelle Obama’s dress is GORGEOUS! I also love the 60’s/70’s one – the trend is definitely making a comeback 🙂
