My Frugal idea for date nights

April 5, 2012

I LOVE to dine out with Mr. Bigtime for date nights!  The problem is that it gets very expensive.  I have came across this website called  I signed up by email so they send me messages when they are having sales.  I like to buy the $25 gift certificates to the local restaurants of my choice when they go on sale for $2 or even $1. They have restaurants available for most major cities in the US, also a great idea when traveling.  They have some stipulations about when you can go (usually weekends are excluded) and the minimum spending criteria (for a $25 g.c. you usually have to purchase $35 worth of food.)  When it all adds up:  I spend $2 for a $25 gift card, plus another $10 to reach the minimum spending criteria of $35 so I end up purchasing $35 worth of food for about $12 plus tip.  Not to bad for a fun inexpensive date night 😉  They are always posting new restaurants in the area, so it’s fun and frugal to try new places.  These pictures are from a recent outing to The Vintage Steakhouse in San Juan Capistrano, so delicious! I promise my photography will be getting better soon, if anyone ever has suggestions on taking better pictures, I am all about it.

The Bearnaise sauce on the salmon was delightful.
