Fashion Inspiration

April 4, 2012

My long-term goal is to be able to post a new outfit here every week, but I have quite a way to go first.  I still need to figure out what is considered to be fashionable and what isn’t.  My fashionable friend Miss K still has a lot of teaching until I will fully understand fashion do’s and don’ts. The old Frugal Nurse would be happy wearing jeans, flip-flops and a sweatshirt every day, but one of my goals for the new year was to figure out how to buy fashionable outfits at reasonable prices so I don’t feel so frumpty dumpty and so I don’t spend alot of money!  I hate feeling like a frumpster!  The other aspect to posting a new outfit every week is that it costs money. Since Mr. Bigtime and I are committed to paying off our house by next year, that doesn’t leave a lot of room to purchase my fun outfits. Please feel free to give me any suggestions on places to shop where I can get clothes for dirt cheap!  I’ve been scouring Pinterest for ideas and these are my top 5 fashion inspiration pictures for the moment:

FashionI like this outfit because the girl has so much confidence and that exudes fashion to me.  I love the contrast of her lipstick color! This picture was taken from this website.

Fashion

I love that pink color of the shirt!  I like this outfit because it seems pretty simple and it looks like something I could pull off. This picture was taken from this website.

Nails

I want to start painting my nails like this, especially for my piano videos.  What a great color contrast!  This picture taken from here.

Fashion

This dress is awesome! I don’t even know what kind of event I would wear this dress for, seems like it would need to be very glamorous. This was taken from Pinterest from unknown website, please let me know if you do.

Fashion

This seems more like a Frugal Nurse type of outfit.  It’s fun, I would wear it to the beach, it has an open back, all things I like when choosing a fun frugal dress.  This dress taken from this website.  Happy Wednesday!

I’m actually quite frugal what it comes to clothes (perhaps because I hate shopping for clothes) and to me the most stylish people are the ones who know how to mix and match their existing wardrobe 🙂 The inspiration pictures you have chosen look really nice!

Thank you! I hate shopping for clothing also, it’s so TIME consuming!! I just like to see and grab something and take it home.

I love the ‘ONE OF THESE FINGERS ISN’T LIKE THE OTHER’ nail polish look. I always have mine painted like this. I have a wonderful glitter polish from Essie called ‘a cut above’. Nails Inc. do a wonderful grey glitter called ‘SLOANE SQUARE’ too. perfect for this look. S. x x http://www.theraspberrybranch.blogspot.com / @stephanieloulou

Where do you live? I don’t know if you know Ross(they got one in SF but probably all around US), they sell everything, fashion included, the most often big brands name from past seasons, it’s really cheap and they have so many nice stuff! http://www.rossstores.com/
You can also check second hand shops 😉
