Frugal Foodie: Boiling Crab

March 31, 2012

I had been wanting to go to Boiling Crab in Rowland Heights, CA,  ever since my friend Miss C told me about it.  I had heard rave reviews from everyone I know who has gone.  The line is usually long, especially during the weekend!  Luckily there was only two of us so we only waited about 35 minutes. Shortly after we sat down they threw a Boiling Crab bib on us, apparently it was going to get messy in a bit. The walls were covered with different signatures and pictures from guests who had visited the first few weeks they opened.  Do that now and you get a fine of $100!

Miss C knew what to order since she had been there before.  We started off with a cup of water that was 25 cents!!

It sure looked pretty.

Our side dishes were the sweet potato fries and white rice. YUMMY!!!

Then we moved on to these little bad boys:

Boiling Crab Shrimp

I wish I was warned about the spiciness scale.  I ordered my shrimp “Medium” spicy which was the third spiciest offered.  I didn’t start realizing something was truly wrong until Miss C asked “Are you ok?”

I was sweating.

I mean dripping sweat.

I just couldn’t stop eating them because they were tasty little suckers.  We ordered the “Sha-bang” flavor and it was quite delicious!  I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Ahhh I hate when I order food and it comes out spicier than liked! Love spicy food not when it’s “too” spicy lol!
