This weekend is going to be crazy!  I work two-twelve hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday, then we leave first thing on Monday for Yosemite!  I’m super excited but see my time dwindling. I’m hoping to be able to write a few posts tonight for next week if there is time left after dinner with some friends.  Am I the only person who feels like they always fill up their calendar?  It’s almost a reflex for me to fill any extra shred of time with some event, walk, coffee, or dinner with any friends that are available.  I love it…..husband not so much!  I tell him that he needs me to fill his social calendar, otherwise he would always be at the beach or at home reading!  Not that being at the beach is a problem, it’s just that I LOVE being around people and making new friends, it’s just my thing.  We use the icloud and the Iphone’s calendar app to sync our schedules since he can be gone 48 hours at a time (typical firefighter’s schedule.) Every time I update or add something to the calendar, he gets a direct notification to his phone.  This means when I’m really going to town on the calendar he’s getting a buzz on his phone every few seconds…..poor guy.  I have found that going over social events and discussing them together first before committing to them has been helpful in our marriage.  This way we both aren’t doing something we don’t want to.

We landed in Philly and spent our first day roaming around the city after a red-eye. With no sleep, 3 chaperones, lots of Starbucks, lots of layers (it’s super cold for us Southern Californians,) and 30 children, I would say we successfully conquered the city.

Happy Belated Mother’s Day to all the mother’s out there including my wonderful mother, mother-in-law and sister-in-law (soon-to-be mommy to a little girl I saw a sign somewhere that read “your mother is a friend you never outgrow.”  So true! Yesterday we were able to hang out with my mom at church and at the beach. In the afternoon/evening we went to my mother-in-law’s house and had an amazing dinner for her! Feel so blessed to have so many wonderful women in my life.  Hope you had a great day yesterday!
