Emergency Budget meeting! The Countdown until YNAB 4!

The other day Mr. BigTime and I had to call an emergency budget meeting. We had already budgeted our money for the month of June. The release of YNAB 4 is on Tuesday, so we need to pull money from another category to pay for it.  I’m thinking the marriage category. If anyone reading this is considering doing a budget, I highly recommend the application: YNAB 4.  YNAB stands for YOU NEED A BUDGET. Jesse, the creator of YNAB has revamped the application to automatically sync to your partner’s phone as long as you have a dropbox account. What does this mean you ask?  Here’s an example:  I’m at home and we just ran out of toilet paper. I call up Mr. BigTime to be a wonderful husband and buy some toilet paper on his way home from work.  He can look up how much we have left in our “household supplies” category, purchase the toilet paper, enter and “sync” the transaction, then I can look on my phone to see how much he spent on the toilet paper. Pretty sweet!!!!

The last rule is my favorite, we stopped living paycheck to paycheck over a year ago and now live off of last month’s paychecks, which takes alot of worry and anxiety away.  It may seem kind of complicated at first, but there are tons of tutorials online, and if you ever have a question their customer service is excellent. Jesse personally emailed Mr. BigTime back within a few minutes when he had a question a few months ago.  Here is a link to their blog for more info about the new version of YNAB.
